Stick Sculptures

This is an ongoing project but it still looks great and I wanted to share it with all of you, what do you think of our stick sculptures?
For the first part of the project, I made a cornstarch dough and stuck it in some of those dome type slurpee lids we had at the preschool. Then the kids stuck sticks from my yard in the dough and we let them dry.
The next week they started painting them!
This is Avery’s bestie, like necklace wearing bff bestie, seriously I didn’t even realize two year olds could have best friends but these two girls are partners in crime- well, maybe more like partners in painting/screaing/running/ reading and so on.
And her mommy is pretty awesome too because she said I could share this picture on my blog :).
Don’t they look great?! I think we are going to do another painting session because with as bright as they looked when the paint is wet, it dried darker and you can’t see it as well. Then I think we will collage some paper, leaves, glitter, flowers, or whatever on top and they will be ready for the art show!

So cute two little creative friends!

Love bringing nature indoors and integrating it into art projects.
