Rose Petal Orbs
I had one idea in mind that didn’t fail, I just discovered I didn’t have all of the materials in mind for it right now, so I moved on to another plan.
I made decorative orbs for Avery’s room! I love all those clusters of different balls and pinwheels and I think these would go great mixed into one of those arragements!
It was simple to make, I just used two bowls, hot glue, faux rose petals, my drill and some spray paint.
First I hot glued the two bowls together, it would be smart to do what I forgot to do before I did this and drill two holes in the top (really the bottom of one of the bowls) and put your string through. I did this after it was glued and it was a pain in the bootay.
I also discovered after the first one was done that it is wise to spray paint it the color of the rose petals you are using, I still like the first one but it would be better if the petal and bowls were closer in color.
Then gather yourself some rose petals, of course they have them at craft stores (coupons people!) but I grabbed mine at a wholesale flower shop for a great price too.
Then start at the bottom and glue the petals in rows onto the bowls.
And work you way to the top!
Here is when I put my twine through, again, so much easier before the bowls are together!
And the white one, see how it should be white underneath? Oh well, I still like it.
Anyone know any tips for hanging those fancy ball clusters?

Awesome! I read this twice and I’m probably missing it still, but are there holes in your bowls where you are gluing them? It looks like there is and I can’t figure out why. I do love them and want to make them!

What a lovely project. I may have to forget my plans for today and find some petals to play with instead. Joanna x
