Quick & Easy Shabby Chic Tablescape

How was everyone’s Mother’s Day? Mine was great, and you would think that since it was Mother’s day I would have passed on setting up the table for our brunch but NO! I like any excuse to set up a table, especially when I get to work with fresh tulips that my husband and baby picked up for me- yay! Here is what I came up with:

Fun, right?! I started with things that I had on hand, I used white butcher paper for the main tablecloth, then I put some scrap burlap I had on hand over the top and then ran some disposable table runner in pink down the middle. Really I found this disposable table runner stuff on clearance, I think at Target, for like a dollar a roll and remember buying a lot of them and I have never seen them again. It is pretty cool and convenient when I do use it though because I don’t care if it gets thrashed! On top of that I put out some chargers that I made simply by cutting and gluing scrapbook paper onto cake circles (like what you would put under a fancy fondant type cake, you can pick up a 7 pack for around $4) and placing them at each setting. I love how affordable and adorable it came out!

Then I added the rest of the plates, glasses and so on and went with pink plastic ware on top of the plates. I like to use real everything, but if I use disposable anything, it is usually silverware and that is a because sometimes I don’t have enough and it is the most bothersome thing to clean. I also put the napkins with the paper straws in the glasses this time and liked the way everything turned out!

It was a simple bagel brunch (it was delicious though, we haven’t had bagels in almost two months since we started watching what we ate so it was awesome!!) which was fun for everyone and easy to put out and clean up! Yay! Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s day!
