Quick and Easy Gift Idea {Monogram Tote Bag Tutorial}

Are you done with gathering/purchasing/making all of your holiday gifts?!

If you need another gift that is quick, easy and affordable, I have the perfect idea for you!!

These are super sweet, I made a set for my Mother in law at the end of the main tax season in April for all the people she works with, this set is for my Sister in law as holiday presents for her coworkers.

I was able to make all of them in under an hour with materials I had on hand for the most part. I picked up the bags from the craft store in a 3 pack for $10 and fabric paint is under $2 also. I cut out letters and the square shape on my Cricut but you could easily tape off a shape and use a chipboard letter if you didn’t have a cutting machine.

But I have to share with you the coolest little tool I have received!! This is the Mega Runner from Xyron- it is a 100 foot roll of permanent adhesive that is perfect for all your paper crafting needs. BUT, I found it super useful in fabric painting as well!!

I put it on the back of my shapes and then stuck them to the bag, it was easy to remove but it was secure enough to hold the stencil while painting.

I used my brush of choice which is a simple sponge brush.

I paint up and down only, dabbing, not brush strokes and I start around the edges first.

Then around the letter.

And the insides last.

The order had two black ones and one purple one, I love the way they came out!!!

What gifts have you been working on lately?!
