You know how some people get the urge to get organized before the New Year or in the spring? I get the urge in the summer before Back to School time comes around. My life has pretty much revolved around the school year for as long as I can remember and being a Preschool teacher and now a mom with a soon to be kindergartener, back to school time is more significant than ever! One of the projects that I have been meaning to tackle for ages is my jewelery organization and after finishing it over the weekend, I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner! With the help of Command™ Brand Picture Hanging Strips and Clear Hooks, I had it done in no time and I love the finished product! Check it out!
First things first, I grabbed my picture frames and you can use ones you have you can pick up a couple of affordable ones from the store. I had these wood ones which I like for their sturdiness.
I sanded a bit of the gloss of so the paint would stick and not just chip right off.
Once it was all sanded, I gave it a couple coats of acrylic paint on the top and inside- I chose this dark gray color called ‘pavement’ that I picked up at Walmart in the craft aisle which is conveniently where I was able to grab my Command™ Brand Strips as well!
I mean look at it, they are all cozy and nicely located with all my other favorite crafting supplies at Walmart now, sweet!
But back to the tutorial, I wanted to use a patterned background to give the whole project a little pop and I had this shelf liner on hand so I traced each frame once it was dry.
I applied those to the wall first so I could then center the frames on top.
Next it came time to break out my Command™ Brand Picture Hanging Strips, these are so great because they are two sided and removable!
First I put the pieces together until I heard a click.
Then I took off one side and applied the pairs to the backs of my picture frames. I used two pairs of picture hanging strips for each frame.
I took all three to my bathroom and then removed the second piece and pressed them firmly into place on the wall.
All that was left at this point was to add the Command™ Brand Clear Hooks to the frames and I was done! I love the clear hooks and their clear adhesive pieces but any of the great Command™ Brand options would work for this wall!
I love how this piece looks all filled in with jewelery and I am so glad to be able to check this project off my list!
