It all starts with some homemade OREO ice cream. That can’t be bad- right? Here is what you need for my favorite basic vanilla ice cream.

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup mik
  • 1 tsp of real vanilla extract

That all just gets mixed together and poured into an ice cream maker and left to churn for around 20 minutes or until done.

While it was churning, I put 8 or so OREOS that I stole from my trick or treat stash (they have these awesome 2 packs right now that are perfect to hand out to trick or treaters and you will be one of the hits of the neighborhood!) into a plastic bag.

Then I took out some of the day’s aggression by crushing them up- the amount and size of the crush is really up to you, they can be as big or small as you like and as much as you like, that is the joy of homemade ice cream!

Once it is done churning, you want to fold in your OREOS and pop it in the freezer to continue to harden for at least a couple hours.

Then when you pull it out all you need is an ice cream scoop, glass, and…

Some Fanta (Orange) Mini Cans which are the perfect size for these floats! How do you think I got the orange and the black in this ice cream float ?!

Doesn’t it look so fun and delicious? And there are even some super awesome coupons floating around your local Vons store and you could save $1.50 when they buy (1) Fanta mini-can or 8-pk 12 oz. bottles AND (1) Nabisco Cookie or Cracker (4.5 oz. or larger, any variety.)

Who doesn’t love a good float? The homemade ice cream sounds amazing (we haven’t brought out the ice cream maker in far too long!) I think you’ve just inspired me! #client
