I was SO glad to get this project done because it has been on the to do list for quite a while now.
Well, more like the ‘dear please’ list- our version of the ‘honey do’ list.
But the hubs works like 124 hours a week, roughly, so I never feel like I can ask him to spend an hour or so hanging pictures after a long day.
Instead, I put on my big girl underpants and did it myself! And I have to say that it turned out pretty good!
What do you think?
It isn’t the greatest picture but this is a giant wall in a long hallway with no windows, even during the day it wouldn’t be a super fantastic shot.
Oh and it only cost me an additional $10 out of pocket to put together.

First things first, I got two of the biggest frames for Christmas from my dad, and the rest I picked up at the dollar store.
Yup, the dollar store!
The ones that weren’t already black I put on some paper and spray painted- I had some serious c-r-a-p-tastic paint in the garage that I found when I cleaned it out and it still worked fine.
Then I came inside and got out a roll of brown painters paper, rolled out 5 pieces and taped them together.
Then I started playing around with placement until I got something I was happy with:
Next, I got my OCD on and straitened it all out.
After that I grabbed a marker and traced all the frames, I used black because my frames were black.
After that, I put some painters tape on the corners and then hung it on the wall and moved it around until it was the right height.
Once it was where I wanted it- I taped the heck out of it so it would fall on me while I was putting in all the screws.
One by one I put in each screw, but I will tell you right now, I used round head when I should have used flat head, it was a big head ache, I don’t suggest you follow those specific steps.
I used this tip from pinterest, you can find the link at the end of the post.
About an hour and a couple not so blog appropriate words later, muttered under my breath of course, I was done!
Here is a run down of some of the pictures!
I had a couple of 4×6 photos that I matted on black paper and put in frames, love how they came out.
Then, I thought of a couple of the multi frames a little differently, I felt that it might be too busy with allllll those little pictures so I just put one of Avery’s paintings in and I like the way it came out.
I don’t know who the people in the vertical 8×10 but it is easier to print the picture and put it in after, then wait till I have all the pictures and then find the time.
Scott’s art is generally just his name over and over again but I like just the same.
Here is that pinterest tip- but I didn’t hammer it in, I just tore the paper a bit with the nail because Avery was sleeping and it still let me know where to put the screw. This will make more sense when you discover how this genius little tip works.
