Faux Succulent Teacup Planter
I had mentioned before that I was so lucky to be able to attend SNAP! this year and one of the most amazing parts of the trip besides all the amazing bloggers I met and was able to see again, were the amazing sponsors that were at the event! One of the most memorable ladies was Jamie from FloraCraft and Make it Fun crafts and not just because they gave out foam cubes and adorable faux succulents! But we did score those as well so I thought I would share with you all today what I made from those! This would be a fun place holder, favor or party craft for a tea party and you don’t have to worry about watering it in the end!
All you need is:
- Paper to make your teacup and file (mine came from SVGCuts) or you could use a real teacup
- FloraCraft foam cube (3 inch)
- 6 FloraCraft faux succulents
It all started with the teacup, I love making 3D paper anything with my Cricut so that is what I did but a real teacup would be super fun as well.
Then I started cutting the foam, FloraCraft totally makes foam disks but I had the cube so I just cut it down with a plastic knife. I have the fun foam cutter, but I wanted to show you that it was also easy to do with the plastic knife as well.
Once that was all taken care of I pulled the tags off all the succulents, aren’t they cute?!
Then I just started placing them in the foam and pushing the stems through until I had achieved the look I was going for, a bouquet style.
Once that all fit nicely in the cup I noticed there were some gaps and this is where the moss comes in!
I just used the tiniest bit but I shoved small pieces of moss all around the succulents to fill in all the spaces.
Then it was done! I really think this would be so darling for kids to make at a tea party birthday or even adults! I know I have some friends that would love a fun craft!
Succulents are pretty on trend right now, let me know how you feel about them in the comments below!
