Eric Carle Birthday Party- Cupcake Picks
While I am making a caterpillar cupcake/cake thing, I still need some extra cupcakes for the rest of the people (uh like 4 dozen extras) and the quickest and easiest is way to do this is make cupcakes, add cute frosting done with a fancy tip and a cupcake pick. Done. You can make it ahead and then decorating is a cinch, I am a HUGE fan of the cupcake pick!
Here are my Eric Carle Birthday Party Cupcake Picks:
First I cut out white flowers at 2 inches with my Cricut:
Then I cut circles from my pink painted paper at 1 3/4 inches, also with the Cricut:
I centered the circle on the flower and hot glued it in place:
Added a stick to the back, I had flat ones on hand but I have used both and they work fine, I have friends that stand by the flat ones for cupcake picks though because they are easier to glue and don’t roll away.
Then I added the number “1” to them that I cut out of yellow painted cardstock on the Cricut at 1 1/2 inches, centered and hot glued onto the circles:
Next came the backing, you have two options here. First I was just going to put another white flower on the back, but they are symmetrical flowers I found so it took too long to line up the back, not too long if you are making 12-24 but when you are making 50 during nap time… it is too long.
So I decided to cut 1 1/2 inch circles from left over scrap painted cardstock and use those instead. Cover the stick and are super cute but didn’t take any time in lining up and were much quicker.
These are going to save me soooooo much time on Saturday!!
