doily wreath

Doily Wreath

I always think a plain wreath form is a blank canvas, but it is usually one that stumps me. I think it is because I make it much more difficult that it needs to be, but I really want to challenge myself and think of an idea I haven’t seen yet.

I had talked about this on my dC Facebook page and had shared a hint about one I was working on, however, I haven’t finished that one.

This is one that I am sharing today is an Easter wreath for my sister in law who is hosting the egg hunt for the kids this year.

I have searched “wreath” on pinterest numerous times and  while there is another doily wreath, it is done much differently than mine so they don’t come out looking similar at all. I figure that gives me a little confidence that I came up with new idea, at least to me.

But enough of that, let’s get to a picture and tutorial, here is the picture:

And you are going to want to click “Read More” to get the rest of the goods:
First I cut a stack of doilies I picked up at the dollar store in half with my paper cutter. Then, one at a time I laid them over the form and pinned them in the back.

Then, when you get to the end, you will want to wiggle the cut end under the lace part of the first doily and then pin it in place.

Then I added some of the scraptastic eggs I shared HERE.

And because all the pictures of this wreath came out so good and I couldn’t choose, here are a few to check out.
