DIY Cupcake Toppers

I love party planning! Avery’s birthday is in late February so most of the time her party is early March… I start planning at least in December. I love thinking of all the details from the backdrops to the napkins. But I also like to cut a few corners to make things a lot easier on myself and I am going to share with you one of my secrets- get ready!

I love the look of a cupcake topper and there are so many ways to make your own that are quick and easy so when you pair those with some amazing bakery cupcakes from your local grocery store- you have just made a visual impact without the time commitment. I do enjoy baking, but, for me, when it comes to parties, the bakery at my local grocery store has it down to a science and their icing skills are fantastic so why not take a little help? My store has great prices on a dozen cupcakes (some even with rings for kids! Check out this instagram post!) but they also have more specialty dozens and singles- these are heavenly!

Double chocolate, red velvet and vanilla bean cupcakes, they are picture perfect! Just need a couple of easy toppers and they would be perfect for any birthday party!

The first of the easy ideas is to grab some fun holiday themed Peeps marshmallows. Since they have done all the work and you can grab them at the grocery store when you pick up the cupcakes, all you have to do is pop it on a trimmed paper straw and you are ready to go! These would be super fun for a Halloween party!

Along the same lines are the plain marshmallows that also come in different shapes and sometimes even flavors- edible cupcake toppers are always a hit!

But how about a cupcake topper that is equally as easy but also a party favor?? Erasers are a perfect way to tie in a theme like superheroes in an easy way!

I just popped these erasers right on toothpicks and it took seconds and they were ready to go!

Also fun and can be personalized for any party theme are sticker toppers! Aren’t these owl cupcake toppers adorable!

All I did was grab stickers that had the multiple designs in the same shape and put them back to back with a toothpick sandwiched in between- fun and easy!

This last one may be my favorite- and some how incorporated into Avery’s party next year- the pom pom toppers!

Making pom poms takes no time at all and you could crank out your whole set while watching your favorite TV show! Promise! Here are a few of them all lined up next to each other, they all look so cute on their own, I can only imagine the impact a couple dozen at a birthday party could do for the style!
