"Crap I haven’t done yet"- Burlap Dry Erase Frame

We are doing one of those gift exchanges with my mom’s family tomorrow and I thought it would be a great opportunity to make a couple of things and save us some money (plus there was a frugal spending limit anyways). I know that a dry erase frame would have to be one of the three things I made and I wanted to do one that was a little more universally appealing so here it goes….

I used:

  • frame
  • acrylic paint and brush
  • scrap burlap
  • vinyl (I even did this with a scrap piece!)

First I took the frame apart and painted it black, it took like 3 coats:

Then cut out the vinyl and put it on the outside of the frame, to make it MUCH easier to make it all strait I put the glass from the frame on my Cricut cutting mat and the stick held it there while I added all the pieces and used the lines to make sure it was all even:

Then I cut a piece of burlap and added it in where the picture goes and closed it up (I didn’t Mod Podge the burlap because I didn’t know how messy it might become):

Super cute I know at least my mom and maybe a couple of other family members will steal it!

Also this was quick and kids could help so it is a great last minute gift idea!!!

Happy Holidays!
