Colored Pencil Teacher Gift
It is Back to School time!!
This is going to be a new type of school year, I am going to be on the mom side of things! Obviously, Avery has been in school for two years now so this will be my third 1st day of school but this year I am a stay at home mom so I get to have a whole different type of year! First thing is a handmade beginning of school year gift!
I have seen the super cute pencil signs with the teachers name on them and I love them, but they don’t really translate seamlessly to preschool. So, instead, I made a colored pencil because they have much more of a presence in the preschool class! I really like how it came out!
Plus it was really simple to make, I got some more scrap wood from my dad and first I cut an 18 inch piece of 2×4, and then I cut a 45 inch point in one end. It was that simple!
Then I taped off some points, and gave it a couple of coats of purple. After it dried, I painted a little triangle tip on the point for the pencil lead.
Once that was dry, I used my Cricut to cut vinyl for the name and applied it with some transfer paper. I love how the black pops off the purple.
Then it was done! I am thrilled with the way it came out and can’t wait for the first day of school to give it Avery’s teacher!
