Burlap & Doily Wreath
Whenever I am in the mood to be crafty, but I don’t know what I should make, I grab a wreath form. When in doubt, make a wreath! That might be a blogger motto somewhere, but really, I couldn’t use them all on my door so I tend to rotate through friends and family and give current creations away- which is what I will do with this one, I just don’t know who it will be for yet! With this one, all I knew was I had this great Flora Craft burlap chevron ribbon I got as swag from the SNAP! conference and I had to use it! Here is what I came up with!
This one was super simple, all I needed was:
- Straw wreath form (because they are the cheapest)
- Chevron burlap ribbon from Flora Craft
- Doilies
- Hot glue
- Wood circle
- Washi tape
First I glued one of the ends of the ribbon on the wreath and wrapped it all around.
Then I grabbed 5 doilies and gathered them in the middle and put some hot glue to hold it.
I made each doily a little more gathered as I went so when they layered it would get a bit smaller as it got to the center.
After they were all gathered, I stacked and glued them as one flower.
For the center I grabbed a small wood circle that was about 1 1/2 inch in diameter and some black washi tape.
I covered the little disk and hot glued that in the center of my flower and then hot glued the whole thing to my wreath.
That was it! I grabbed a plain piece of burlap ribbon to hang it and it is ready to go!
Now all that is left is to find it a home!
