Black and Gold Tablescape
My birthday was last Friday (I’m 30, gasp, it has taken a while to process that) and I was so excited to get a Cricut Explore!!!!! Woohoo!! So when it came time for Wade’s family to come over Sunday for my birthday (we do dinner for everyone’s birthday) I of course had to have fun with the tablescape! Some might think I should have been just relaxing, but I find all of this so fun that I was excited to find a reason to have fun with my new machine. Here is what I came up with:
To be honest, the only thing I used my Cricut Explore for were the place cards, but I think that it all came together beautifully. It started with the fun table runner in gold that I found at Vons for only $4- and it is resuable!
Since I had gold, I knew I wanted to go with that and the paper stack that I used for my mantle was also black white and gold so I just ran with it. I used pretty much all the white and gold pieces for the trees for the mantle so black and gold was the direction I went. I grabbed white tablecloths at Vons because that is what I could find, if they would have had black I probably would have grabbed those because I think that would have really set off all the gold.
After the tablecloth and runner were placed, I got added my gold chargers from my Thanksgiving table and the plates. Then I got to work on the place cards. I had so much fun with all of this people! I made bows that I attached to little pennant like tags that I then used the metallic gold pen to write everyone’s name on. I will have to admit that I was mesmerized by the Explore writing- easily amused I guess.
After all of that work, I realized that I had not thought about centerpieces so… when in doubt- make paper flowers! And that is what I did, and I love how it turned out!
All in all I am super excited with the way it turned out especially because for the most part I used things that I already had! Love when that happens!
