beaded bobby pins

Beaded Bobby Pins

I am going to just put it out there.

This is not my idea.

But it is so cute that I had to make them and share them with you all!!

I was talking with my friend’s daughter, Maya, today about bows and other adornments for your head and she put this little gem out into the universe:

“and sometimes we just put hot glue on them and dip them in beads”

I was like “that is a good idea!” and then I said, not surprisingly, “I will have to blog about that”.

So I am, but giving Maya credit for her idea. Here is how they turned out…

If you want to make your own, gather you tiny beads (I found a bunch of colors at the dollar store if you don’t have any):

And your large bobby pins, they are probably in the bottom of the resuable whole foods bag in the closet, or is that just at my house?

I started with pink, so I grabbed a handful.

And put it on a piece of paper in a long pile.

Put the hot glue on the bobby pin.

And here is the hard part, follow along, put the bobby pin, glue side down in the beads.

I know, complicated. ?

Then do all the rest of them in other colors!

I made all the ones I had, if I had 100, I would have probably done them all. It is one of those projects that is so easy it is addictive. This would be a great gift or party favor!

I know, probably enough pictures, just two more….

Thanks Maya!

Check me out over here!!

    Love this!

How well do they stick… or do the beads fall off in your hair?
