Beacause My Plastic Knives Felt Left Out

They did, I could here them pouting in the pantry all the way at my craft area.

Ok, maybe not really, don’t go trying to commit me into the funny farm in one of those pretty little white hug yourself jackets (though a blogger would refashion a strait jacket and add some ruffles and chevron).

But I had this whole box of plastic knives and this rooster bottle cap wall hanging thing that I got for 70% clearance and haven’t had an idea for yet. Those came together and made this:

Not too shabby! Though, I will be honest, I have no idea what to do with it or where to put it, but I think it looks amazing!

I started from the outside in just hot gluing the knives down.

I then decided to add more in between them to fill it out.

 Then came the next layer.

And the last layer, you have to get a little more creative with this one with the angles. I put four down first like a “+” sign and then kept putting more in the middle of what was already there until it was all filled in.

I had a random wooden circle (I have a lot of random stuff) and hot glued that on the center to give it a more finished look.

Then I took it to the garage for an application of spray paint, ombre style.

This isn’t it’s home, just a spot to hang it to get a good picture. But I haven’t taken it down yet either, Wade said it belongs in a cafeteria. Men.

Look how good it goes with Scott’s artwork on the other wall! Excuse the giant whit spot. That is what happens with you take down the fire alarm and put up a new one that isn’t the same, harumph.

Ok, enough pictures for you? Where should I put it, any ideas?

What an awesome and creative idea! The poor knives are always the last to get used in the pack… i mean really, what can you actually cut that can’t be done with the side of a plastic fork? I’m going to dream something up for all my lonely knives. :)
