Apple Garland {Inspired by I Can Teach My Child}

I was browsing through pinterest (of course) and I saw this super cute idea for an apple garland from I Can Teach My Child. Being that it is fall, I thought this would be a cute idea to do with the kids at the preschool (plus apples are a symbol of Rosh Hashana or the Jewish New Year). I really liked the way it came out and we just switched up a couple of things but kept the same basic idea.
I cut out apple shapes and put them on the contact paper and then gave the children small pieces of orange, yellow and green (it is what we had on hand) tissue paper and let them go to town! I also did this activity with my 18 month class and with that group we added some GLITTER!! It made it even better.

Clear contact paper is wonderful for a no mess collage activity, when they were done I just put another piece on the top, cut out around the apples and strung them on some twine. I think it is adorable and would be even cuter hanging in a window!
