Any Occasion Chalkboard Sign
It is the last day of school here, and much like the first day, or any other day, I wanted to make a sign for Avery to hold.
But I feel like I am always making signs or printing something off the computer and I thought it would be fun to just make a generic wood sign I could use in many pictures.
To be honest, this was so fun and easy to make, I will probably make more but you get the point, I wouldn’t have to….
Isn’t it cute? It was beyond easy to make, I even put it together in one evening of doing a step then cleaning up, doing another one, then making dinner- and so on.
Here is a quick tutorial, I just cut a piece of wood and sanded it down smooth. The length does not really matter, any scrap piece you have should work just fine.
I painted mine red, but color of course is optional. Then I cut “today is…” from vinyl with my Cricut and put it on with transfer tape. Then it was as simple as giving the right side a few coats of chalk board paint.
One of my favorite parts is the little tape embellishment I added with some pieces of a lovely paper tape set the nice people at Wholeport sent me. This is such an affordable little set and every single piece is cute!!
I was able to get a bunch of fun pictures of Avery and her friends at school. Then I made the traditional first day/ last day photo… then cried for a bit about how big she has gotten.
You know, normal mom stuff.
Now, after seeing this picture again, I need chocolate.
Have a good day!
