2 table runner and pillow set

2$ Table Runner and Pillow Set!!!

So I was at Ikea today picking up some things for a friend who does not live near one and I on purpose accident, found myself in the “as is” section going through the clearance linens bin. All the fabric (at least from what I saw at our store) was under 5 dollars, curtain panels, display items and so on and if you think about it just as fabric, it is a great deal!
At our Ikea, they sold fabric and would have sample panels hanging in the showroom and it looks like they ran out or discontinued the fabric and threw the sample panel in the clearance bin. I grabbed it, along with some other things, and came home and turned that one panel I bought for 2$ into this:
Pretty awesome right?!
Here is how I did it:

Click “Read More” to find out how!

First I took the huge seams off of each side where they were held in the display.
Then I cut the whole thing in half, pull one half aside- this is the table runner.
Then I cut the other half again into four pieces, one for each pillow.
For the table runner, I just hemmed the sides and called it a day.
Turn them inside out and sew them like you do with pillows.
Fill.
Sew and DONE!!
Super easy AND super cheap, the best kind of project right?!?! I am so excited, even more excited that Avery took such a long nap that helped me get some work done, clean up AND make a table runner and four pillows.
Accomplished days are good days =)

Oh and apparently Scott approves of the pillows lol.
What do you make during nap time?

My Ikea doesn’t sell the fabric this way and I am always jealous when I see that people have found a deal on such cute fabric!

Great job! Glad the family approves!

This is phenomenal! If only I could sew a single stitch! I’m a glue gun seamstress. :)

Great find! My closest Ikea is an hour and a half away and I’m dying to get back there! Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog earlier!

Shut the front door! $2! Seriously???

I don’t get a “naptime” break anymore, because Moosey chooses NOT to nap.

So, a half hour rest time. Sigh.

Thanks for sharing this with my readers at Creative Juice Thursday!

I saw your link at Tatertots and Jello. I love what you did with the fabric. Oh, and I’m jealous that you live close to an Ikea!! Next time we go, I’m definitely going to look out for fabric in the clearance section!

Yep, that fabric was a great find! I love the runner-pillows too but I love table runners. Great job.
