10 New Uses Tuesday {CD Jewel Cases}

Now I know that CD’s are the most popular way to listen to music anymore (um did you think we would be saying that so soon?!) but they are still around and if you are like me, you prefer CD’s in a book because it takes up less space.
However, that doesn’t mean I just throw them away or refuse them if they are offered to me- heck no! Not on this blog, they get upcycled!
Let’s get started!
1. Reusable tracing pads, these are great because they are like a clipboard and worksheet all in one. You make whatever template you want and slide it into the CD case then your child can use a dry erase marker to trace and erase to their hearts content! For the record, I used Avery as an example, she is not desk bound writing her name all day.
2. Coaster, put a cut paper or picture in the case and then some cork on the bottom you have an easy and cheap coaster that is easily personalized!
3. Scrape ice off your windshield (or straw out of the back of your car from a bail of it that you bought for a party a while back and still haven’t completely vacuumed out- just sayin’ it works).

4. Candle holder, it is the perfect surface to catch wax from candles, if it gets really destroyed, you can just toss it and your table or surface is safe!
5. Gift card holder, just slip it in and add a decorative paper or just wrap it up! You could really have some fun and use an old CD that they recipient would never be interested in, would make for a fun reaction.
6. Art project surface, see that post HERE
7. Paint pallet for children.
8. Picture frame, I think these would be sweet in a kids room or on their desk. They could do this project on their own!
9. Barbie tent, I would have loved decorating one of these as a kid for use with dolls or little people or polly pockets.
10. Memory game or matching, you would need a lot of them to do this but just put the pictures in the front of the case and you can decorate the bottom with a common paper or color and an instant memory game!
Any ideas to add to the list? Would love to hear!
