Hey everyone, I need some advice from my creative readers... I am working on a play kitchen makeover, but I am stuck. Kinda ridiculous considering I painted it and now I don't know what is next, I pulled off the door handles and will spray paint them but I want to make it REALLY cute for my classroom but not over do it too much. I tell you what though, just the coat of paint made a world universe of difference.
Here is the before:
Right?! I am about as crazy as it comes when you are talking loony art teachers and not even I would come up with this idea and then leave it like this, I am sorry, I just can't get behind it. So I found a quart of "reject" paint at home depot for $2 (do you know about this? There is a section of the paint department with paint that was mixed but then not sold or returned that they sell for a huge discount, I have talked to a few people who have not heard of this... I check every time I am there!) and already it looks waaaaaaayyyyyyy better.
So, here is my question, where should I go from here? I know I should add a 'stove top' like I did on my previous kitchen, but then I don't know what's next. Links and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
THANKS!!

When I made a play kitchen I used old CDs to make the stove top burners. Good luck!

Wow! What a difference the paint made. The before shots looked like a food fight happened & was left to dry. I like Sarah's idea of using the CDs. I have seen some made from felt though. I would love for you to show this off at my Wickedly Crafty Saturdays! http://wiccanmakesometoo.blogspot.com/2011/09/wickedly-crafty-saturdays-90311.html
When in need of inspiration, I always go to pinterest, it works everytime. So, I searched "play kitchen" on pinterest and tons of ideas came up here!! One idea I saw was people were using chalkboard paint and giving the kids a chalk board on the side of the refrigerator for a "shopping list". I hope this helps guide you in the right direction!!

So, sorry my first link didn't work... here it is pinterest :)
OH my goodness, this looks like a completely different set. I think adding a stove top would be great. Are you going to add anymore color? I think big horizontal strips would look super cute on the doors. Just a thought though.
I am certainly no expert, but what about taking the doors off the sink unit and put a sweet colourful curtain on? And definitely some chalkboard or magnetic paint on the refridgerator door, this way they can either put some pictures up with magnets or ake some art on the chalk board.
What about some sweet bunting along the top of the little dresser/stove? This and the curtain would be removable and changeable for seasons etc, maybe leaf bunting and then Christmas/holiday bunting. Somewhere else for seasonal projects. You could always pop the doors back on to change it up even more x
HUGE difference...for the BETTER! Whew! ... I was going to suggest chalkboard paint and/or magnetic paint as well. I have a feeling you'll add some fabric curtains too. What about stenciling?
Whatever you do will be fab! I cant wait to see :)
