If you are a regular reader of my blog you know that I am one of those couponers,
if you are not a regular reader... I am one of THOSE couponers.
I am still working on my stockpile of 998,098,098,098,098,908 bottles of mustard, but I do enjoy saving money.
One of the items I am always able to find for a great deal is dish soap, for example, the last time I bought it, I picked up 8 bottles for $3.18- not too shabby!
After donating 4 bottles to the classroom Wade works in, I still have 13 bottles and while dish soap is always useful and shelf stable, the hubs is still thinking the pile of just dish soap is a little on the excessive side. That is when he said those words...
"I challenge you, what else can you do with it"
Challenge accepted, here are 10 new uses for dish soap!
1. Add to tempera paint to aid in stain removal, or if paint gets on clothes add right onto the stain.
2. Dilute to make your own foam soap, rock the bottle from side to side though, don't shake!
3. Bubble solution- Dawn makes the best bubble solution, coming from the preschool teacher.

4. Science experiments, there are a ton! THIS one is one of my favorites!
5. Flea repellent; my husband is constantly doing this he gets a bowl of dish soap and water and when he flea combs the animals he dunks the comb in the soapy water between use to kill the fleas/ You can also dilute it and spray it around the house when you find fleas or ants.
6. Wash your car- we know this one but I still know a handful of people who by special "car wash soap" and I still don't understand why.
7. Shampoo in a pinch; it is a degreaser right?!
8. Ice pack; maybe my favorite one! I found the idea HERE
9. Fight and clean up grease build up around the house, on tools, the driveway, craft materials and more! Just soak and scrub!
10. Bio degradable fruit wash; dilute and clean fruit without the use of chemicals. This is a great use for the last little bit in a bottle, I just filled it up with water the rest of the way and put a new one next to it! Why battle the bottle when you can just re-purpose it!
What else do you use dish soap for around the house?
