Easy Placemat Tutorial {Fat Quarter Craft}

I always like to have a nicely decorated table.

I am not saying it always happens, but I like to .

I may have just found a way to change my mind as often as I like, without braking the bank!

The secret, buying fat quarters when they are one sale and sewing up some placemats!

At my store, they go on sale for $.99, so for the same price I can get them at the dollar store, I can sew them up quickly and have MANY more options of color and patterns!!

Click "Read More" to see how I did it!

Materials:
Fat quarters
Sewing machine
Pins
Scissors
Iron

First I cut 2 inches of the long end of my fat quarter (preference and I wanted to use the scraps for another project), then I opened them up and ironed them flat.

Then I folded it in half "hamburger style" (do you remember this from school? Or was this just my school?) with the right sides facing together. Then I pressed it again with my iron.

 Next, I pinned it together.

Then, I sewed it together, but I left an opening so I could turn it right side out.

After sewing, I clipped the edges so the corners come out nice when I turn it inside out.

Once that is done, I turned them right side out.

And pressed it flat with the iron.

Last I sewed a stitch to finish off the sides and sew up my opening, I find it to be the easiest way to do this.
