I am so happy about this interview today!!! I have been following Melanie's blog; Reasons to Skip the Housework, for a while and I am so glad she decided to come visit!!
You HAVE to check her out because she is awesome!!!
~.~.~.~.~
1. In a couple of sentences, tell us about yourself.
I am a new stay at home mom to a 16 month old daughter. Before becoming a mom, I was a teacher for 12 years. I married my high school love after we reconnected 17 years after high school!
2. How did you get into blogging?
I started blogging in order to have some "adult time" away from being a mommy. Being a stay at home mom is hard work and you start to become consumed by kid things. I decided I needed an outlet to keep my adult mind working and going strong! Now, I blog because I'm completely addicted to it!
3. What is your blog about in a nutshell?
My title, Reasons To Skip The Housework, kind of explains itself! I blog about anything and everything I can in order to skip doing anything around the house. I also like to give others reasons to get to skip the work! I have a mix of craft tutorials, baking that I usually screw up, dinner recipes, activities for/with kiddos, and a peek into our daily life.
4 What are your favorite materials/ ingredients/ tools to work with?
I make Scrabble Tile Pendants for my Tinker B Etsy shop, and so I'm usually working with Mod Podge, an epoxy resin, and E6000 all day long. Lately, I've gotten the sewing bug and I'm a sucker for all fun fabric! I have a huge stash just waiting for me to transform it!
5. Where do you find your inspiration?
Mostly, from other bloggers! I'm not a craft idea "thief" but I certainly gain ideas from others and transform things into my own. I also get inspiration from my West Elm and Pottery Barn catalogs - and believe it or not, "Goodwill Hunting" can do amazing things for my to-do list!
6. What are a couple of your favorite blogs?
The few blogs I keep tabs on every...single...day are Fingerprints on the Fridge, Delicate Construction {wink, wink}, I Heart Naptime, Pioneer Woman, Oopsey Daisy, TaterTots and Jello, Finding Fabulous, and Sew Chatty.
So far, my favorite was my Zippered Pouch. I followed a tutorial for it and it actually turned into an actual pouch with the zipper on the correct side! I was very proud of myself.
7. What are a couple of your favorite projects?
So far, my favorite was my Zippered Pouch. I followed a tutorial for it and it actually turned into an actual pouch with the zipper on the correct side! I was very proud of myself.
I also loved doing my Lucky Word Frame. It was an idea that came to me all on my own, and I felt like I "created" it from scratch. That doesn't happen often!
I also loved my Custom Burp Cloths because I'm a new sewer and I did them all....on...my...own! Mom would be so proud!

Don't you LOVE those crafts!! They are fabulous!!!
