Seven on Saturday with Lindsay from Southern Lovely

YAY for another interview for Seven on Saturday!! I love getting to know my fellow bloggers better and sharing new faces and blog with all my readers!
Today we have Lindsay from Southern Lovely... a recent fave blog of mine!

~.~.~.~.~

1. In a couple of sentences, tell us about yourself.

Hello, Delicate Construction readers, my name is Lindsay. What a wonderful honor it is to be here today! A little bit about me, I share my mom's birthday & am also the middle child in my family--totally suffer from middle child syndrome. :)

I married my best friend in 2003, and since then have had 3 children. After graduation, we moved away from all of our family & started a new adventure in the south. I enjoy making memories with my family. Dreaming up new ideas (when I should be sleeping), and creating them.
2. How did you get into blogging?

I actually started blogging back in 2006, to document our first child & our move to the south, which happened to coincide. Since then our family blog has become private & was being over taken by all the crafts I was making. Hence, Southern Lovely was born & has became my (much needed) creative outlet.

3. What is your blog about in a nutshell?

Besides therapy for a very tired mom, my blog is a place where I can document my ideas & creations. Since it's really hard to justify buying expensive home decor, with three little kids in our home, I love being able to recreate things that inspire me, and make them for myself. At times, my blog can be a little of this & that--re-purposing old antiques, sewing, painting, kind of whatever I'm in the mood for.

4. What are your favorite materials/ ingredients/ tools to work with?

Hot glue gun, fabric, buttons, ribbon, spray paint, vinyl, I love them all. I try to mix things up, as can be seen by the growing amount of craft materials in my closet--which drives my husband crazy at times. :) Oh & did I mention have a thing for wreaths?? Yes, it's kind of a joke around our house, what wreath I am going to make next.

5. Where do you find your inspiration?

From some of the ba-zillion blogs that I follow. :) I love seeing what other people do, and tweaking it for myself. Going to thrift stores & antique shops is also a great way for me to find things that I want to recreate.

6. What are a couple of your favorite blogs?

In no particular order--Under the Table & Dreaming, I heart Nap Time, Poppies at Play, Little Miss Momma, House of Smiths and of course Delicate Construction (and I'm not just saying that!). I really could go on & on, like I said before, I follow so many of them. :)

7. What are a couple of your favorite projects?

The project that took the most amount of love, was our daughter's yellow dresser.

The board & batten in our loft that I convinced my dear husband to install.

The little thrift store box that I changed into a bright new addition for our home.

The book wreath--which took entirely too long. And I still think about it every time I look at it in our home, but I truly love how it turned out. :)

The dollar store buckets that I turned into storage bins for my son's nursery.

The pillow case dresses that made me overcome my fear of sewing!

Well I think that about covers it! Thank you so much Michelle, for letting me invade your blog for a day--it was oh-so sweet of you! And if any of your lovely readers want to stop by my blog to say hi, I would love to have you!

Wasn't that great!! I think I have featured at least two of her projects on my blog, love everything she comes up with! Make sure you make your way over and visit her blog!!!
