Remember when I made these bags many months ago HERE?
Well, a friend of mine shared an email with me about a craft night she is going to and they shared possible ideas and I spy bags were one of them. It made me think of the last ones I made and I thought I should try another idea. Here is my take on many of the different ideas that have been shared in the blogesphere.
I changed up the fabrics, method and filling and came up with these fun little quiet toys.

Materials:
- Fabric
- Vinyl (I got mine for 5$ a yard and a yard will make a BUNCH of them)
- Sewing machine and thread
- Decorative sand
- 10-15 small items to look for
First I cut two squares, mine are 6 x 6.
Then I cut out a square in the middle of one of them, I folded the square in fourths and cut it that way to make sure it was centered.
To the one with a hole in it I cut a piece of vinyl that was about 5x5, it was a rough cut because I trimmed it down later, and placed it on the wrong side of the fabric and pinned it down.
Next, I sewed it on, it is easier for the vinyl to go through the machine on the bottom instead of the top because it catches on the foot.
After I sewed all the way around, I cut off the excess vinyl on the wrong side of the fabric.
Next, I sewed the two pieces together pillow style, right sides together and left a small opening to turn it inside out. Don't forget to cut the corners down.
After it is right side out, I collected my items and decorative sand.
I filled it up about half way with the sand, I had black and white but I liked black for this one because of my awesome Eric Carle fabric.
Here are the random things I chose...
Once everything is inside, I pinned the top and sewed all the way around the bag.
Done!! Perfect for just sensory play for younger kids and older ones can look for the objects. You can also make a tag with everything that is inside like the ones I made previously and attach with a ring and an eyelet to the corner.

So cute! One of these days I need to make some for Travis:)
Doing this!!! It would be fun to do letter or sound eye spy bags!
These are great, and you make it look easy enough for even me to do it! (When I get a sewing machine!)
I have wanted to make one of these for a long time. I just keep procrastinating since it involves sewing. I love the black sand.
A friend of mine made some for her kids and I love them! I've want the kids next holidays to have more handmade toys and games and this would be perfect. Thanks for sharing the tutorial!
