Pads- Never leave home without them!

WAIT!!! Hear me out!

I wanted to share a new use for these guys to you...

and no I am not going to talk about that use

(my grandpa reads this blog for goodness sake!)

a different, perfect for a first aid kit, type use.
I learned this one in the many blood born pathogens trainings I have taken through the various school systems I have worked for, and every time it is brought up, people give the instructor the SAME look you are giving your computer screen.
What the WHAT!?

Seriously, I have tried it and this is no joke. It works.

Click on "Read More" to find out what it is.

First of all I had to share my amazing deal- do you coupon? My husband has been saying for months "we should really try and coupon" and it wasn't until recently that I jumped on the bandwagon. And when I did, I didn't play around, instead of just one newspaper each week. I buy FOUR. And I print out coupons and collect them from friends and family and buy magazines for them and search stores for them....

but anyways, in one of the newspapers a couple of weeks ago they had a Target coupon to make these .01$, no joke!! ONE PENNY!!

So today, I finally went when they were in stock and picked up 4, for, that's right, 4 cents!!

And this is plenty to have in the home first aid kit and the car first aid kit (or the car organizer I shared HERE) and 2 for the stock pile.

What? First Aid kit?

Stay with me on this one, in the blood born pathogens training they told us to always keep these in the first aid kit. Why? Well, think about it, what were they made for?

Exactly.

If you have ever had a child, or been around a child, that gets a cut or scratch anywhere on the face you have learned first hand that faces bleed a LOT. That is why we were taught to get the gloves on and then apply a pad to the wound with pressure to absorb the blood and stop the bleeding.
Let me tell you, it works.

I admit, when I heard this I was working at an elementary school and the first thing I thought was "Really? One of these kids is going to freak out when I put a pad on their head!" But seriously, if they are bleeding, they don't notice. What they WILL notice, and what WILL freak them out more, is the sight of blood- especially their own blood. Even the smallest scratch will bleed so much more on the face or head than it would anywhere else, and no kid, no matter how tough, wants to see that.

I know, it still probably sounds ridiculous, but regular price of these are still under a dollar so it is definitely worth a try.

Trust me. ;)

They had to use these on my uncle when he got bit by a black widow and the skin was healing.
